Vintage Sewing Pattern of the Day: Vintage 1960s "Jackie O" Suit Separates

Loving this Jackie O inspired suit pattern but also love that it's a bit more youthful. It is a Petites pattern after all. I love that in the patterns description Petites in the 1960's meant 5'1 and under! (I would have been petite...now I'm SUPER petite, haha!)

If I could sew I would whip up this adorable vintage 60s suit separates, probably in large black and white herringbone print with big mod buttons!

Vintage Vogue Fashion Editorial 1968 by David Bailey

This vintage UK Vogue fashion editorial from May 1968 really speaks to me. I adore the photography and gorgeous New Zealand landscape so much! The clothes are quite fun too, especially those 1960s mini dresses!

Vintage Clothing Shop Preview: 1960s Dresses

The shop is receiving a large update of dresses over the next few days! My favorite is probably the brown and white plaid Mod dress with the double panel of buttons along the front, it's something I see Alexa Chung or Zooey Deschanel wearing! Pair it with black tights, little loafers or ankle boots and you're set!

The Vintage 60s + 70s Fashion Icons and Muses

The great icons of the 1960s from the queens of the cinema (Jane Fonda, Anna Karina, Mia Farrow), the wide eyed super models (Twiggy, Penelope Tree) and of course the music muses (Francoise Hardy, Janis Joplin, Diana Ross). There are so many icons from the past that I look to for inspiration, who is your vintage fashion muse?

Vintage Style Icon: Claudia Cardinale

She was an Italian + Tunisian bombshell in the 1960s and is still a working actress with over 30 films (mostly Italian and French) in her repertoire.



I absolutely love that Claudia exudes so much sexiness in her photos but still looks incredibly approachable (she loved being barefoot in most of her photoshoots) unlike the French bombshell Brigitte Bardot who is incredibly sexy but if I were a man I'd never dare to approach her!

Vintage Tunes: French Yé-yé "Baby Pop" by France Gall

She was a French pop singer in the 1960s whose musician parents were friends with Serge Gainsbourgh. She released her first record when she was 16 and became part of a musical movement dubbed "Yé-yé" (Yeah Yeah) popular in France, Quebec, and Spain in the early 1960s.

I have never in my life been so inspired by a complete stranger, let alone a stranger that lived some 50 years ago and probably does not know her found photographs have been scanned on the internet and shared for people to admire.

These are photos of Ty. A wife of a bloke, is he American, is he European, is he Australian? We don't know. But he seems to adore his wife very much as most of the photographs were of her looking impeccably put together while they travel through Hong Kong in the 1960s.

Is it weird to say I want photos like these of me? Candid moments that perhaps in the distant future someone will blog about and think "Wow, this woman had such style, I wish I was her!"
