Vintage Decorating: 10 Vintage Film Posters For Your Apartment

For chic and affordable artwork for your apartment, opt for vintage movie posters. There's something quite fantastic about the art and style of the 1960s, (mostly French films), but you could also go for campy movie posters or cult classics. The larger the poster, the better, they're perfect for open loft living or boxy white rooms.

Where to Buy: All the posters here are available at Film Art Gallery (for ORIGINAL posters) or you can purchase NEW versions at Movie Goods

Vintage Room Envy: Hot Pink, Crystal Chandeliers, & Vintage Perfume Bottles

I am so in love, absolutely head over heels with this ultra feminine bathroom! I am definitely taking a cue for my own rather chintzy 1920s bathroom. I love that this has a lot of va-va-voom but all the lines are very clean, very simple. That is a great mix. Start off with clean simple lines and add the high glamour with vintage bottles, crystal chandeliers, and anything floral and sparkly.

Flea Market Homes: 10 Pretty & Eclectic Interiors to Inspire

There is something so cozy and welcoming about homes that have a mix of antique and new. The interiors featured here all have bits and pieces you could easily find at your local flea market or swap meet. Look for vintage linens such as floral curtains and table clothes, hand painted bowls, vintage tin cans or wire baskets for storage, and needlepoint pillowcases and ornate framed paintings. Just remember to buy what you love and what catches you eye, because as I've found, when you purchase items you cherish, it all comes together in the end.

Project Runway Design Challenge: Circus Inspired Style, My Own Take

My Own "Circus Inspired" Dress

While watching Project Runway I was inspired to draw up my own "circus" dress. Too bad I can't sew :( and I couldn't quite draw the "petals" right, they look like eggs. LOL. But they're suppose to be large floaty chiffon petals!

I do wish I could sew though, other than the simple adding buttons and simple hemming I'm pretty clueless with a sewing machine. I would have the loveliest clothes if only I could sew!

The inspiration is from what tight rope walkers or those aerial dancers would wear in the good old circus days. I would wear this to a birthday party. And the floral ribbons on the shoulders are detachable in case you don't want to look too "fairy" like. (But I like fairies... so I would definitely wear these)

10 Mid-Century Modern Interiors, Mixing Old + New

I love Mid-Century modern furniture because the lines are clean and simple. Nothing is ever too bulky or too fussy. I also love all the wood grain colors.

I'm currently in love with the { Eames DSW } chair with wooden legs (pictured in 3 + 5). I need end chairs for our dining room and I feel these would be a great fit. At first I was seriously considering the Louis Ghost chairs, but can you imagine how annoying it would get to see fingerprints and marks on all that clear acrylic? And I'm slightly OCD... it would not bode well.

Vintage Room Envy: Louis XVI Chairs, Exposed Beams, and Diamond Floors

Louis-XVI Dining Chairs

I love this sunny dining room! The exposed ceiling beams and that gorgeous diamond patterned floor. It looks like wood and stone perhaps? I'm not sure, I'm not an expert on floors by any means. And I am currently obsessing over Louis 19th Century antique chairs. I must have these for our dining room!

I'm not sure whether to go for the real antique Louis chairs or go for the Philippe Starck Louis Ghost chairs? Hmmm...

10 Vintage Inspired Interiors Evoking Light + Bright Old World Romance

A few interior design inspirations with lots of bright natural light and antique accents. The third photo is actually of Russell Brand and Katy Perry's house in L.A. (or at least the real estate picture of it) that I am kind of obsessing over.

I am so in love with this bed, a far cry from our quite modern West Elm bed frame. Well, one cannot have everything she wishes for, hm? Otherwise my apartment would be outfitted with antique treasures from 1stDibs. Although I am very happy to report that in a few days I will be the owner of a pretty Anthropologie-esque white antique dresser purchased from Craigslist. *happy little dance*

Coincidentally, this will be the first piece of furniture I've purchased that I was completely selfish about deciding. Usually I keep my husband's modern tastes in mind, but this dresser was too pretty to pass up. Pictures soon I hope!

Vintage Interiors Envy: Toile Sheets On an Antique Bed

I have always loved vintage metal frame beds, when I was younger I dreamed of having a vintage metal bed (with a Victorian feel) or a white canopy bed with lavender ruffled sheets. But instead, I had this ugly clunky brown oak bed that had removable railings (horrid). My younger sister on the other hand got a white metal day bed with a romantic scroll head board and little floral painted details AND a canopy (bed envy...) I've already made a promise to myself that if I have a little girl and she wants a princess bed, she will most definitely get one! (Although if she asks for a sensible "will-last-you-a-lifetime" clunky bed, I have to draw the line!)
