Runway Report | Vintage Inspired Fashion - Alexander Berardi Spring 2011

I love the tiny floral prints from Alexander Berardi's Spring 2011 collection which reminds me so much of vintage Cacharel and even Liberty of London (but much more muted). The styles are very reminscent of the mid to late 1970s when fluttery shoulders and butterfly sleeves were very popular. Aren't the dresses so very David Hamilton as well?

Runway Report | Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2011

It's luxuriously gilded! The collection reminds me of the Middle ages for some odd reason. Maybe it's the hairstyle or the gold details or maybe it's those wide belts with metal discs. Love the styling of the Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2011 collection, especially the hairstyle.

Runway Report | Milly by Michelle Smith Fall 2010

I love this collection because of the apparent nod to vintage 1960s French fashion. It's young, wearable, and playful and you can take pieces that a 16 year old girl could wear it or a woman in their 30s could wear.

The show was styled so sweetly with the polka dot tights, colorful gloves, and double strapped mary-janes. My favorites are the black and red checked patterned blouse and skirt.

Runway Report | Sonia Rykiel Resort 2011

Absolutely loving the references to the fashions and styles from the late 1920s and 1930s in Sonia Rykiel's Resort 2011 vintage inspired collection. (And love that the hair is a modern take on a 1940s hairstyle) If Clara Bow was around today, I feel like she would wear pieces from this collection, don't you think?

I'm very inspired by the color palette of this collection and the prints/patterns. This collection will definitely influence my choices for Autumn!

Vintage Inspired Love| Rebecca Taylor : Resort 2011

Simply adore the casual prettiness this collection evokes. The dainty "Mori Girl" inspired floral prints and the breezy fabrics coupled with the slouchy jackets and cardis... simply love it! Me thinks the AdoreVintage late summer, early Autumn collection will veer towards this look... pretty and just a little rough on the edges.

Rumpled Preppy: Our Favorite Looks from Marni Resort 2010

An oldie but a goodie (isn't it odd that resort 2010 collections are sooo last year? HAHA) Preppy classics never go out of style though, that's why they're classics! I'm especially loving the color palette of this collection: Midnight Navy, Coco Brown, Cafe Au Lait, and just a hint of Peony Pink.

Jason Wu Resort 2011, Could I Be Anymore in Love?

Coco Chanel-esque straw boater hats, I simply adore it! I actually have a vintage straw hat which I plan to wear more often during the summer. There is something so very chic and French looking about all of these looks. If this is the future of mainstream fashion then I will take an extra double helping and go back for seconds! Je l'aime beaucoup!

Adoring Viviane Westwood's "RED" Spring collection

Most of the clothes had a 40s inspired silhouette, which is probably why it caught my eye. While the entire collection wasn't my particular cup of tea, these four looks I really adore! Pastels, florals, polka dots... what's not to love?

The first look reminds me of Little Bo Peep, maybe because I thought the umbrella was a cane at first?

Dreamy frocks from Alberta Ferretti Spring 2010

Love these Alberta Ferretti soft and angelic dresses from the spring 2010 RTW collection. The dresses look as if they should be worn by fairies or nymphs, don't you think?

Perusing through the Runway pictures from Elle.com and wanted to share a few of my favorites. Most of these are from the Resort collections, so they're a bit more cheerful and softer (which I like).

I just noticed most of the outfits I really was drawn to were neutrals...huh? I'm usually a girl who loves her colors and bold prints.

I also noticed many of these had RUFFLES. I love ruffles. Not 80's cuckoo-crazy ruffles though. *shudders*

Currently Loving: Twinkle by Wenlan Resort 2010

My favorite looks from the Twinkle by Wenlan Resort 2010 Collection. Everything looks so comfortable (and pretty!)

Anna Sui's Bohemian Inspired Fall Collection

Anna Sui always has a bit of that hippie, boho luxe thing going on. Mixing patterns, textures, deep saturated colors, and those tiny little details that look like they were plucked from the world over.

Some of my favorites from the Fall 2009 RTW collection.
Anna Sui Fall RTW 2009

The collection is a mix of Victorian (note the puffy sleeved tops and the little bow and brooches?), flapper inspired headwear, disco 70s (note the metallic tights), and a little bit of Western (the boots, the bags!) I wonder if Anna Sui throws a bunch of different styles into a velvet bag and draws out different slips of paper and that's what her collection is composed of. *hehe* I love it though. It's a happy wonderful mix of styles and elements of fashion throughout the different eras.
